For many people Permanent Beauty procedures are a new experience and there are a lot of questions that we are asked during their first free initial consultation. typical questions include.
Pre-treatment Questions …
Will it hurt?
We use the latest, strong topical anesthetics, to ease discomfort. We do not use dental injections. These anesthetics mean that there is less post treatment swelling.
Do you use new or clean needles?
All of the equipment used is fully disposable. All needles, casings, tips, colours and dye pots, are new and sterile. We will show you all of the equipment, unless requested not to do so.
Will I have an allergic reaction to the treatment?
If you have a proclivity towards allergic reactions we will do a patch test before starting the treatment. We have only had a small number of allergic reactions in Australia.
How long will it take?
It depends on the actual procedure and the depth of colour required. We will advise you how long we expect to take when you make your appointment, but in general you will need to allow an hour or more. All procedures involve a follow-up consultation a week or so after the initial appointment.
Will there be much swelling or redness afterwards?
Everyone is different and we cannot predict exactly how you will respond to the treatment. That said, 80 % of our clients only suffer minor discomfort.
Can I go to work, lunch or dinner etc, straight after the treatment?
There is a little swelling normally, but some clients can really swell. We recommend that you do not make your appointment before an important day, meeting etc.
Why do I need a follow-up appointment?
We always provide a free “touch-up” consulatation to perfect the shape and colour of the procedure. We can only guarantee our work after the follow-up appointment.
What colour or shape will be used?
This is a matter that we will discuss with each client. You can bring a photograph, draw your own shape or rely on our extensive experience. If you are not sure, we suggest that you think about it for a week before we proceed.
We always use a slightly lighter shade during the initial procedure. It is easy to darken the shade to the perfect level during the free touch-up consultation.
How permanent is Permanent?
In general, a treatment will last for between 2 and 5 years. Over this time the colour will remain, but it will gradually fade. Darker colours can last for as long as 10 years, but will still fade over time.
Post treatment questions…
Will it scab like a real tattoo?
The area treated is kept moist (with an antiseptic cream) and the recommended aftercare includes light exfoliation. These steps combine to minimise scabbing
Can I wear makeup after a treatment?
During the healing period you can wear light make-up on the brows, after applying bepanthem cream as a light moisturiser. However, no makeup can be used on the eyes.
In the case of a lip line or blend, lipstick can be worn in the middle from the 2nd day, with bepanthem cream applied to the edge. Cold sore sufferers should only apply Zovirex.
How long will it be before I can wear makeup again?
You can wear make-up after exfoliation is completed, usually in a few days.
What about cleansing, swimming, gym?
You cannot put your face in a direct stream of water, shower stream or pool etc, for a few days after the treatment.
During this time you should gently dab your face with water over the basin. |
